Board Guidelines
Welcome to Amazinz.com, a "family friendly" forum dedicated to hosting in-depth discussion on a wide variety of topics while focusing on the New York Mets and Major League Baseball in general.

As an opinionated forum, it is the proud goal of this community to accept and promote all opinions, provided that they are related to the material at hand. Additionally, members are expected to present their opinion and discuss others' opinions in a mature manner without attacking the character, posting style, or tendencies of other posters.

With those goals in mind, we, the Moderation Team, require all members of Amazinz.com to incorporate the following guidelines into their posting activity.

Posting Guidelines

Personal Attacks
Personal attacks of any kind are not allowed at this site, no matter how subtle they may be. While we fully endorse opinions being taken to task, make sure that you are dissecting the poster's opinion in a mature manner and not discussing the character of the poster. Laughing at other posters, ganging up on other posters, or other immature behavior will not be tolerated. Additionally, please keep in mind that tone or intent cannot always be determined on a message board, so please be extremely careful when posting something that may be taken the wrong way by not only the poster you are responding to but by the community as a whole. We encourage the use of "smilies" to make a post with innocent intentions seem friendly. However, it is recommended that any references to attributes of other posters are left out of your posts.

Thread Hijacking
While the Moderators realize that discussion threads can and will wander, we ask that you refrain from "Thread Hijacking." This is defined as deliberately steering a discussion off topic, posting comments which add no value to a thread, or repeatedly disrupting threads to promote a certain opinion. Additionally, the use of exclusionary conversation is discouraged.

Baiting
"Baiting" is not permitted at this site. We define this as posting with a clear intent to provoke anger, incendiary posts, and/or other behavior that may violate these guidelines. However, keep in mind that this is not an excuse for violating any of these guidelines.

Duplicate/Miscategorized Threads
Please make sure to search the forums before creating a new topic to see if there is already an existing topic. If you have posted a duplicate topic, the Moderators may merge your thread with the existing topic or close your thread while pointing you to the previous thread. Please also make sure to create new topics in the appropriate forum. If you have placed a thread in the wrong forum, we will redirect it to the forum where it fits best.

Posting Links and Copyrighted Material
We require that any links posted or used in signature files are appropriate for a "family friendly" discussion board. If you are posting articles from other websites, make sure that a link is provided, and that the article is not posted in full on the day it was published. Please do NOT at any time post any content from subscription sites or sites requiring registration, or share passwords that would allow other members to view this subscription material.

Politics and Religion
While political and religious discussion is allowed at this site, we realize that these can be very sensitive topics. We ask that members keep that in mind when discussing these topics, and that there are no political or religious references made in screen names and signatures.

Ignoring Posters
We understand that in the real world, folks do not always get along or cannot always co-exist comfortably in each other's company. If you find this to be the case with another poster, and are unable to work out your differences through private messaging, we STRONGLY encourage you to use the "Ignore" feature of this board, which can be accessed and utilized by going to "My Controls", by clicking on the poster's screen name, or by clicking here. Once the Moderators need to step in between posters, continued banter between those posters that violates these guidelines will result in the offending members receiving warnings.

Reporting Violations
While Moderators are often online and are vigilant in patrolling the board, members may alert the Moderation Team of any divergence from the guidelines by using the "Report" feature located under each individual post, or by sending a private message to a Moderator. Please do not report rule violations or respond in a way that violates the guidelines in the thread where the violation occurred, and please do not abuse the "Report" feature.

Additional Guidelines
The Moderators of this board will not tolerate: pornographic material, offensive photos, swearing of any kind, discussion related to narcotics or criminal activities, file sharing, multiple screen names for one person, inappropriate screen names or signatures, recruitment to or discussion of other sites, unapproved advertisement (otherwise known as "spamming"), unclaimed rumors, scalping of tickets, or any other behavior that does not fit in the mold of a "family friendly" discussion board.

Warning System

If you have violated the guidelines listed above, you may receive a warning. We may also remove your post or edit out the offending part of your post at our discretion. Each member can receive up to three warnings before they earn a suspension. An additional warning after returning from suspension results in being banned from the site. Egregious violations may result in immediate suspension or banning. You can see your warning level in your profile and underneath your screen name each time you post. Other members cannot see your warning level. Please do not discuss warnings, suspensions, or bans on the forum or with other members.

The Moderators of this site will make every attempt to enforce these guidelines consistently and even-handedly. When we take any action, we do so with the support of the Moderation Team and place the interests of the site as a whole first.

If a situation arises on the forum, we prefer to handle it privately. While there will be times when we make a post in an attempt to save a thread that is heading in the wrong direction, we will generally attempt to resolve situations by sending out private messages to the members involved. If we send you a private message about a situation, do not assume we have not talked to other members, as we deal with each member involved separately. We also will not discuss other private conversations or our actions with other posters with you.

Please feel free to seek clarification regarding any aspect of the guidelines by sending a private message to a Moderator. Additionally, we are human and can make mistakes. In such cases, please feel free to send a private message to a Moderator and describe what you feel was an error in judgment. Also, please note that the guidelines for the forum extend to the "Box Seat Lounge" (chat room) as well.

Remember we are Mets fans at this site, and that this is a forum for in-depth, mature discussion on our favorite team. Part of what makes this site great is the varied opinions and viewpoints that our diverse member base provides. So we want our members to feel like they can freely discuss those opinions and viewpoints in a mature manner without being attacked for them. That leads to better discussions, a more comfortable atmosphere, and a better forum overall. These guidelines are designed to ensure those things happen.

Enjoy your stay at Amazinz.com!
