Gorski really came on last year. Seemingly putting things together at St. Lucie. Reports were that the stuff had improved along with control. Well the real test as most know comes from the move to AA. Every so often a player comes on strong in A ball only to fizzle out at the higher levels.
Gorski in AA so far: 2-0, 3 GS, 1.12 ERA, 16 IP, 6H, 2R, 2ER, 7BB, 16SO, 0.812 WHIP. If Gorski continues like this in AA he is putting himself in position for a serious look at a rotation spot in 2013. As well as cementing a top prospect status. -------------------- People ask me what I do in winter when there’s no baseball. I’ll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring.

Gee, I thought Gorski was the guy that ate 3,000 Big Macs in the movie Supersize me!

One of my thoughts has been that once the Schwinden, Hefner, Bautista, Young etc. experiments fail that the Mets might consider bringing Gorski up to the MLB this year. I know they will not be touching Harvey, Familia, and Wheeler and that's great. They shouldn't, all 3 need more time in the minors.
Gorski might not though. Being older than those guys and a guy who I can find few faults with we may see Gorski this year starting games for the NY Mets. If he continues his success at AA we should be on watch. Currently: 2-1, 6 GS, 2.27 ERA, 31.2 IP, 21 H, 9 R, 8 ER, 16 BB, 27 SO, 1.17 WHIP -------------------- People ask me what I do in winter when there’s no baseball. I’ll tell you what I do. In other news maybe we should have held onto Capuano..... |
